Sentinel

Original oil Painting... hanging in my sister's house.
A bit of Sher Art Trivia... the original title of the painting was "The Hanging Tree." There's a huge oak standing by the East bound lanes of Highway 74, heading into Wilmington, NC. I passed it weekly during the early 90's. One night it appeared in a dream and I knew I had to paint it. It was entered into a juried art show in 1998, after much controversy over the name, I changed it to "The Sentinel. It won 2nd place and later in other competions won took 2rd place or 3rd place.
